IELTS Writer's Helper
Stuck on a Task 2 essay or a Task 1 response? Paste the question and get a clear position, ideas to develop, model topic sentences and structure tips. It is a planning aid to get you started, not a finished answer to copy.
How to use it well
Start from the plan
Use the position and topic sentences as a skeleton, then write each paragraph in your own words. See the Task 2 guide, which carries twice the weight of Task 1 in your Writing band.
Know what is assessed
Strong planning supports Task Response and Coherence and Cohesion. Check what each band expects on the IELTS band scores page.
Get a human view
Once you have written your answer, send it to our IELTS writing correction team for detailed feedback against all four criteria.
IELTS Writer's Helper — common questions
What does the IELTS Writer's Helper do?+
Paste an IELTS Writing question and it returns a clear position, ideas you can develop, model topic sentences and a few structure tips. It helps you plan a Task 2 essay or Task 1 response before you start writing.
Will it write my essay for me?+
No. It gives you a plan and example sentences to adapt in your own words. Copying generated text would not reflect your real ability, and examiners reward your own ideas, vocabulary and grammar.
Does it predict my band score?+
No. This is a planning aid, not an assessment. IELTS Writing is scored from 0 to 9 across four criteria, and a band is best judged by a human teacher who reviews your finished answer.
Does it cover both Academic and General Training?+
Yes. It helps with Task 2 essays for both modules, plus Academic Task 1 data descriptions and General Training Task 1 letters. Paste the question and describe the task type for the best plan.
